          Breitling’s iconic pilot’s chronograph – for the journey. In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a wrist-worn chronograph with a circular slide rule that would allow pilots to perform all necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) announced the design as its official timepiece. The “navigation timer” – or Navitimer – was born. The AOPA was (and remains) the largest pilots’ club in the world, counting nearly every US aviator among its ranks. As the defacto pilot’s watch throughout the glory days of civil aviation, the Navitimer was worn by airline captains and aircraft enthusiasts. It even made its way into space on the wrist of astronaut Scott Carpenter in 1962. And it wasn’t only pilots drawn to the watch’s irrepressible aesthetic. Revered as one of the best contemporary chronograph movements, this COSC-certified calibre finds its esteemed place within the Navitimer, Premier, Avenger, Chronomat, and Top Timer collections. Boasting a column wheel and vertical clutch chronograph mechanism, it delivers precision timing down to 1/4 second increments, capable of measuring up to 12 hours. Additionally, the B01 showcases functionalities like a hacking seconds feature and quick-set date. Crafted from 346 meticulously assembled components, including 45 to 47 jewels, this movement operates at 28,800bph (4Hz) with an impressive 70-hour power reserve, exemplifying Breitling's dedication to horological excellence.

          The Breitling Warranty

          Breitling watches are entirely manufactured in Switzerland, according to the strictest Swiss watchmaking quality standards. They undergo nearly 1000 checks during production, while all movements (mechanical and quartz alike) must successfully pass the extremely stringent tests of the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Any manufacturing defect is covered by an international warranty, valid for two years from the date of purchase, or 3 years for watches equipped with a mechanical Manufacture movement.

          INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY

          Any person having purchased a Breitling watch or chronograph from an authorized Breitling retailer can claim cover under the international warranty by showing the electronic Breitling international warranty card to any authorized Breitling retailer or distributor, as well as to any authorized Breitling service center.

          Your Breitling watch or chronograph is guaranteed against any manufacturing defect for a two-year period. The warranty takes effect as of the date of purchase of the watch.

          The electronic international warranty card will be honored by official Breitling partners worldwide providing this card has been activated at the time of purchase by an authorized Breitling salesperson. When the international warranty has been activated, the following information appears on the card: Model name, reference, serial number, name of the retailer, activation date as well as the international warranty length.

          Within the framework of this warranty, any servicing or repair work on your Breitling watch or chronograph must be carried out by an authorized Breitling service center that will place its stamp on the page marked “Maintenance”.

          3-YEAR WARRANTY (MANUFACTURE MOVEMENT)

          Any person having purchased a Breitling watch or chronograph from an authorized Breitling retailer can claim cover under the international warranty by showing the electronic Breitling international warranty card to any authorized Breitling retailer or distributor, as well as to any authorized Breitling service center.

          Your Breitling watch or chronograph equipped with a mechanical Manufacture Breitling movement is covered by a 3-year warranty (excluding all straps other than metal straps). The 3-year warranty on the mechanical Manufacture Breitling movement is granted on condition that water resistance tests are performed every two years following the date of purchase by an authorized Breitling service center. These tests are conducted free of charge. The warranty takes effect as of the date of purchase of the watch.

          The electronic international warranty card will be honored by official Breitling partners worldwide providing this card has been activated at the time of purchase by an authorized Breitling salesperson. When the international warranty has been activated, the following information appears on the card: Model name, reference, serial number, name of the retailer, activation date as well as the international warranty length.

          • theft, loss, acts of God, natural disasters and accidents (blows, shocks or crushing, etc…)

          • wear and tear from normal use and ageing of the watch
          • water resistance problems and their consequences if the water resistance tests have not been performed every two years
          • applications for the repair of a watch of which the warranty card has not been activated.
